Welcome

Neighborhood Garden Initiative (NGI) is dedicated to fostering food sovereignty and empowering the people in our communities with the resources and education to sustain themselves by learning to grow their own food.

Our mission is to make gardening a tool for positive change in every home by cultivating gardens everywhere for everyone. NGI believes in full transparency when sharing plant resources, education, and knowledge because we envision a food system that is equitable and resilient. We invite you to join us in sowing the seeds of change for a healthy, sustainable future.

NGI’s Three Pillars

Our organization respects the boundaries and space of the families we serve by creating sustainable food systems they can rely on.

We believe in the modernization of home gardening as well as the importance of educating the public on food sovereignty and its effect on our local environment and economic systems.

We exist to share our knowledge and bounties with one another and help put the food system back into the hands of our community.

What We Do

Personal Gardens

Let NGI help you and your family install your garden.

Community Gardens

We believe that healthy and fresh food should be accessible to all! Our community is full of people who want to help keep public gardens thriving throughout the seasons.

Farm Hand

Let NGI help you tend your land. It’s a wonderful learning experience for us to see what it’s like to manage a large-scale operation versus a home garden.
